Here's a piece of art I did for the amazing webcomic, "The Dreamer," written and illustrated by . The concept is simple; Bea ends up in a ballroom, attired in the latest 1770s fashions, and there's Alan, actually dressed up for once, either asking her to dance or inviting her outside. There's Betsy Loring in the immediate background, with an even higher hairstyle than Bea's, and literally green with jealousy.
I painted this with acrylics, on watercolor paper sealed with matte medium- no colored pencils or alcohol markers or any of that.

Oh my word this is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The detail is AMAZING! Your Alan is soooo wonderful! I love his face and expression (and Bea's too)...! ZOMG, I fell in love with Alan all over again when I saw this!! He looks so good in blue!

I'm so glad you like it! I wanted to make the characters look formal and glammed up, but I also wanted to make them look true to your original designs. How do you like Mrs. Loring? And Bea's pink robe a la francaise? Man, that was just sooo much frou to paint. I don't think I want to paint another robe a la francaise for another six months!

I love Bea's hair *___* Normally, I'm not too crazy about the 1770s, but I really love all the dresses in this scene.
