This is the first deviation done for ~LaModeHistorique, the new group moderated by :iconseitou:, :iconkeeganyoung:, :iconkingandrewi: and me! So come by and check it out- we'd love to see you. Fashion nerds rule!

The people showcased in this picture are, clockwise, Philip II of Spain (1550), Fanny Kemble (1850), Giacomo Casanova (1750) and Mary Henrietta Stuart, Princess of Orange (1650). They represent, respectively, the Spanish Renaissance, the antebellum American south, Italian Rococo, and English/Dutch baroque. They're all fascinating people, but I shudder to imagine them in a room together!

Casanova looks like he's eyeing Fanny Kemble there ;) Do you take commissions? Because I would love for you to draw Thomas Jefferson or le Comte de Saint Germain ^^

"I told him that I felt obliged as a Christian to warn him to commend his soul to God, 'since I am about to bury you here, alive or dead; and if you prove the stronger, you will bury me. You can escape if you wish to, I shall not pursue you." - Casanova
Aah, my kind of fashion sense.

Actually, he's eyeing Mary, Princess of Orange. (My mistake- I changed the list of names of counter-clockwise to counter-clockwise because it was confusing. Oops!) Yes, I take commissions... when would you like a pic of Jefferson or the Comte?

Wer reitet so spät durch Nacht und Wind?
Es ist der Vater mit seinem Kind;
Er hat den Knaben wohl in dem Arm,
Er faßt ihn sicher, er hält ihn warm.

You're very good at portraying people. I really think you managed to draw their expressions very well. :)

Nulla dies sine linea - Not a day without a line drawn.
Fantastic drawing! I love your period accuracy and the range of expressions. Why do they all look like cunning villians, though?

The girls of today wear trousers to look like boys and transparent blouses to prove that they aren't
This is so beautiful!

I just love the way you draw costumes and historical figures. I would simply love to make a commission of Giacomo Casanova from you at one point!
