The Escape
They darted down the passage, Edmund trailing behind. He paused every so often to cast an eye back into the darkness and listen for footsteps. The floor dipped after a sharp turn and they found themselves splashing through ankle-deep water. The tunnel became dank with moisture. It narrowed, too, until they could only pass through one by one. Edmund held his torch high in the vain hope of lighting the way.
At last, the passage opened again; the party clustered together once more. Edmund found himself beside Andar.
“This way,” Tethor called over his shoulder, gesturing in the light of Drey's torch toward an archway.
Everyone moved to follow, save Edmund. He turned instead to Andar, grasping his coat and shoving him into the wall with such force, it surprised even Edmund.
“I know what you told them, but I need to know for myself. Did you give that order?” The party ground to a halt. Edmund could feel their stares, but he didn't care. He kept Andar pinned to t

Yes indeed, well my first interest was the arts in that time, but I got much more interested in life back in the 17th century. I studied it for 6 years and finished my first book some months ago.
Maria Bedell is the character of your story isn't she? I seen the drawing of her and I think she looks most excellent! Lovely detail in the costume and so historically correct! So great! Yes I love to hear more about your story

You wrote a book? I'd love to see! Maybe we can swap chapters... :)

Basically, in "Devil's Paintbox," Maria- a half-Spanish noblewoman- spies for King Charles by encrypting messages into her miniatures of flowers. And then her dead husband's best friend, a rough Roundhead colonel who both hates and desires her, crosses her path... A lot more happens, of course, but this is just to give you a general idea of the plot. :D So, what do you think?
