Phillip Seton by suburbanbeatnik Phillip Seton by suburbanbeatnik
Continuing with my historic fopfest, here's Phillip Seton, a Scottish cavalier, currently (like Maria Bedell) spying on behalf of King Charles during the troubled times of the 1640s. Although he's clearly a moody, brooding type, notice how his silk doublet is fashionably left half unbuttoned, and he wears a falling band and cuffs made of very fine lace. As the cavaliers knew, no sense in going off to fight without being dressed to the nines!

Your description of his fashionable dress makes me chuckle. He's very nice, indeed. :)

I'm glad to hear it! :) As I've said often enough, there aren't enough 17c. style drawings here on dA.

too excellent! lace... that reminds me I have pieces of 18th century lace :) So delicate... sadly I can't put it on display in my room cause there wont be much left of it after some time, but so nice! Anyway that has nothing to do with this drawing. He looks great and interesting! I love to know more about him, and I love the way you drew him, sketchy like very nice!
