Oh wow, that's awesome you got to be on NPR. That's really good! Darn, I wish I had to money to buy these books & magazines you've been mentioning. My original intent was to, but I seriously am broke (thanks to no luck with finding a job), so I can't spend any money (except for bills). But hopefully something will come...and when it does, you better believe I'll be buying the book (and the magazines you had mentioned before).

That illustration is hilarious. "Frock Barn", eh? Oh dear. *Laughs*

Yeah, there's an actual "Dress Barn" in Phoenix... I always thought that was the most hilarious name for a clothing store!

Hi guys! 
It's been a long time since I've checked in, but I've got good news. I have a new novel out called DOORS. It's a parallel universe romantic adventure, and a follow-up to to my time travel romance A QUESTION OF TIME!
Jackie Karam always knew her friend Orne was a weirdo, even before he enlists her help in opening a door to an alternate dimension. His theory is that if one could find a book one lost, a book one loved but can no longer remember anything about, it might open a door to another world. Jackie just happens to have such a book in her past. A science fiction novel her high school teacher had recommended to her before he died in a car crash.
Jackie loves hanging out with her handsome, charming, eccentric friend, so she agrees on a trip back to her hometown to look for Mr. Forrest
So I just saw MaleficientAnd it was pretty awesome! Wow, Angelina Jolie. She was AMAZING in it, and drove it with her acting prowess and seemingly effortless charisma. I wasn't sure if I could buy the whole "Maleficent is a misunderstood anti-hero" idea, but I think they pulled it off. While it was something of an AU fanfic of the original Sleeping Beauty, it worked on its own terms. Maleficent didn't feel angst, she was dignified, she had a pretty cool arc, and I loved her evolving relationship with Aurora. AND NEITHER LADY ENDED UP WITH A GUY AT THE END which was just... wonderful. I was even okay with Stefan being the heavy. Other than the occasionally tiresome candy-coated CGI, I liked it a LOT. IMHO, it's a much stronger movie than Frozen.  
Go Maleficient! I'm really excited for the live action version of Cinderella next year... 
And expect some Maleficent artwork, coming up (hopefully) soon!
The Queen's Cavaliers Kickstarter is live!Hey there guys! I am super excited about The Queen's Cavaliers, a game I'm illustrating that's currently up on Kickstarter. Inspired by The Three Musketeers, it's a baroque clockpunk tabletop RPG sent in an alternate 17th century France. So there's swashbuckling ahoy, with dangerous ladies and complicated men, along with all other sorts of Errol Flynn type shenanigans-- and more fancy baroque fashion than you could shake a rapier at!
We were recently featured on the No Pun show, and also on io9. If the game takes your fancy, I hope you'll consider supporting us; I'd love for the book to look as gorgeous as possible.

The past five months have been exciting and very busy. In addition to new work, gigs &etc, my new book came out around Thanksgiving! (Apologies for being slow to post here, but things have been crazy.)
A QUESTION OF TIME is a time travel romance about Celia, a successful sci-fi author who travels back in time to the 1980s. She ends up falling in love with her old high school teacher, Alan, who died tragically in a car crash in 1989-- she doesn't know whether she can save his life or not, and it's a race against time until the hour of his death! It's been pretty well received, as you can see from these reviews here, here and here.

Collective Feature #20Updates:
 Firstly, I want to thank the anonymous user who gave me a 3-month Premium Membership. I don't use the features much, but I like the journal themes, so thank you! :D 
 Secondly, I wanted to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday! Being at college, nothing excited happened except classes and work, but I did get to help out at a dodgeball tournament our club hosted, so that was kinda fun. 
 Thirdly, who else enjoyed the 70=80 degree temperatures and gorgeous weather on Friday + Saturday? Cause I know I did! It was short lived (back to rainy, windy, and cool) but I hope you all made the most of it! I drove up to Teatown Reservation to see if there was any growth, but there was very few. They opened up their "Wildflower Island" to the public and I hope to go back in a couple of weeks when things begin to grow more.

In all seriousness, I wanna start to make commissions. After talking to Alyssa (walkingmelons on youtube) about prices, I'm leaning towards following her policy. So if you want to commission me here are some details:
A fully colored digital drawing (like this one): $40 (may charge extra if there are more than 2 characters)
A fully colored digital drawing only focusing on the upper body part: $30
Since I'm just starting with the commission thing I wanna take it slowly and patiently, maybe in a future I'll be able to draw only sketched or simple colored drawings which will be cheaper, but for now I'll focus on what I know I can do better. If you are interested, send me a note named "Commission" and then add what you want. I'm thinking I can only take maybe 2 commissions per week to get started, when I get the hang of it I'll probably be able to take more in.
