That’s really hard to choose. But I think. Yeah. The German Munchhausen Movie from 1943. Because of the stunning clothes in the movie. Especially the beautiful gowns. Closely followed by Marie Antoinette of 1938 which has wonderful costumes too and Marie Antoinette of 2006 (but I must say: what me disappointed about this Movie was not the story but the handle of the costumes in this movie. Their all beautiful, but nearly every other noblewoman in the movie wears gowns with bigger skirts than the ones Marie Antoinette wear. That’s a point I can’t understand. The movie was wonderful, but to complete the whole atmosphere properly in my own opinion, Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France must have to stand out of the mass of noblewoman. And fashion was the best way in 18th Century to symbolize that. Especially the size and accessories of a gown are essential not only to symbolize the wealth but the social status as well. Even in her time as a Princess. Thankfully one part of the movie made all right. And that’s the wedding. Kirsten Dunst looked so beautiful as she walked and later danced, in a dress that‘s not only suitable for Marie Antoinettes big day, but shows perfectly show me: This is the Wedding of a true Princess. Maybe one or more scenes with her in gowns with the style and size of her wedding dress and it would be my favorite movie of the 18th century. But that’s just my opinion);). and the duchess (Keira Knightlyes gowns in this movie, especially the bigger ones suits her so perfectly).
